You guys know that I’m a major fan of snail mail — when I spot a gorgeous greeting card, I can’t resist filling my cart with one (or three, or ten.) One of my resolutions for 2014 is to take time to send more “just because” notes to the people I love, so it was perfect timing when Hallmark asked me to help announce the launch of their new Rewards program, where (in addition to all the warm fuzzies you get by dropping a card in the mail to a friend) you get cool stuff for every 5 cards that you purchase anywhere — and that includes more than 30,000 stores across the country. Keep reading to see some of my favorite Hallmark cards of the season, learn how the Hallmark Cards Rewards program works, as well as how you can win a gift card to cover more than enough cards to last you the entire year…

Here’s how to enter to win $250 to spend on Hallmark cards:

  • Play Hallmark’s new Seal the Deal game to be automatically registered for Hallmark Card Rewards. (As part of the game, Hallmark is giving away tons of great prizes, including $2,500 to fund a guilt-free holiday shopping spree!)
  • Once you’re signed up, you’ll earn 1 reward for every 5 Hallmark cards purchased. Rewards include gift cards, discounts, and dollars off from some of your favorite brands.
  • Last step to enter: Leave a comment on this post letting us know about the best card you’ve ever received.

Be sure to download the Hallmark Card Rewards mobile app (Android and iPhone), to easily scan the barcode on the back of your purchased Hallmark cards and register your rewards for your account.

It really is the giveaway that just keeps giving! Leave a comment here, then hop on over to the Seal the Deal game to register!

i love these pictures and getting snail mail too. it reminds me of the “old days” of christmas. when people took the time to write letters to each other and send cards instead of posting something on Facebook.

One of the best cards I’ve ever received was a painted Christmas themed card. I could tell she spend loads of time and effort into it, especially since she made multiple of them.

Best sympathy card I’ve ever received read the following:

    We are all creatures
    of this great earth-
    interconnected in ways
    beyond understanding.
    Take elephants,
    So big.
    So strong.
    And yet,
when a member of the herd passes,
    even elephants mourn.
    They gather around,
    extend their trunks,
    and gently touch
    the tusks
    of their fallen friend.
    It’s their ritual.
    It’s how they heal.
    And it’s sad.
    And it’s beautiful.

    So maybe
    what we’re trying to say
    is that the world
    doesn’t expect you
    to be fine with this.

Be how you need to be.
Mourn how you need to mourn.

    And know that
    you’re thought of
    with love.

The best card I got was from my husband, it was a card you could form into a cereal box, it was so cute and well decorated. 🙂

Now that I’m older, I rarely receive birthday cards, but last year an old high school friend sent one to me. It made my day!

I love any cards I get because I feel like the person giving them to me had to take the time to pick out a card that reflects my personality and our relationship together! and sometimes I just love the ones my boyfriend leaves for me at home just because 🙂

I am 30 now, but the best cards I ever got were ones that my goofy high school boyfriend (and now best friend) would make me. They always made me laugh..and sometimes even lit up!

I have a hatbox full of my favorite cards that I have rec’d over the years. ONE of my favorites, though, is about 2 feet tall and was given to me the last day I ran a day care. It is signed by the kids; I was moving away and it tears me up every time I look at it. I have it stashed between our dressers. 🙂

my dad gives the best. they are so inappropriate and he has such a dirty sense of humor so it’s pretty great to get something less cheery for comic relief.

The best card, that I still have with me, is the one my little sister drew herself for me when I was really sick sophomore year of high school. It was so sweet and thoughtful for her little 6 year old self to draw a bouquet of flowers and wish for me to get better!

The best cards I received were those designed by my husband! He uses Photoshop to make cards with our favorite inside jokes, photos, etc.

My Aunt sent me breakup card after my boyfriend of 7 years and I split up. At the time I didn’t think things would ever get better but I appreciated the sentiment. Knowing what I know now, I would send an encouraging note to a friend going through a similar situation.

The best card I ever received was one that was scribbled completely by my older son as a toddler because he worked so hard on it.
