Good Monday morning, m’dears! Hope you all had a great weekend. As predicted, ours was totally relaxing and fun: hours splashing around in the pool, a dinner-and-movie date, bbq with the family, lots of errand running, long lunch at Blue Dahlia…and I even got my hospital bag packed! (Have I mentioned that I really like to be prepared?) In the midst of all that, I found a blissful couple of hours to read this month’s issue of Vogue from cover-to-cover, and I couldn’t get this editorial off my mind, depicting Patti Hansen & Keith Richards’ clan at their island getaway on Parrot Cay. Bursting with juicy colors, exotic fabrics, caftans and ikats and embroidery galore, it was a stunning display of bohemian chic by one of the world’s most gorgeous families. Not to mention the fact that it was shot in a total island paradise where the only decisions to make are which bikini to don and who’d be kicking off karaoke around the fire pit that night. This fantasy obviously inspired today’s board, and I’d love to host a dinner party overflowing with such lush visual interest in shades of ocean-y aqua and blood orange red. Drape an Indian blanket on a low-slung table, scatter cushions around to encourage lounging and mix up a batch of these to sip late into the night, serenaded by the sounds (real or imagined) of ocean waves.
