In the three years that we’ve been married, Adam and I have visited some amazing places together…and sometimes just for fun, we look back and choose our favorite moments, meals and memories from all our travels. Our honeymoon to Capri and Rome often wins in every category, and always wins when it comes to the food. It was on this trip that we fell head-over-heels in love with all things caprese, and I swear we ate some form of tomatoes, mozzarella and basil (on pizza! pasta! salads! bruschetta!) at every single meal. Perhaps it was the indescribable buffalo mozzarella that’s everywhere there (and impossible to find in America)… or perhaps it was the fact that we were enjoying it on the cliffs of the Amalfi Coast or in the shadow of the Spanish Steps that made it seem so magical. In any case, it’s a flavor combination we recreate at home all the time, and the bright tomato red and herbal green would make such a lovely color palette for a summertime dinner party, no? Load up on heirloom tomatoes at the farmers market, top a rustic table with a red & white checked cloth, or pack up a picnic basket with all the fixin’s for a romantic dinner à deux. Salute!
