Several of y’all have so sweetly been asking about how my book project’s been coming along, so thought I’d share a quick update this morning. After my first solid 6 weeks of writing, brainstorming and styling shoots, it’s already shaping up to be one of the most creatively stimulating and artistically fulfilling projects I’ve ever had the privilege of working on. I’m finding a new rhythm in my days that allows me to set aside the demands of running a small business (emails, accounting & the like) and really focus on creating something original and communicating my true vision in each chapter. I’ve been starting most days at a nearby coffee shop with a double soy latté, my iPhone on silent and a blank word doc staring me in the face, and really relishing the opportunity to work without distraction. You guys may have seen a couple of my instagrams here and here from the book’s first photo shoot (“springtime brunch.”) At the end of the long workday, I couldn’t have been more exhausted or more proud of our entire team who once again blew me away with their mad talent. Thought I’d share a little sneak peek with my inspiration board for the shoot, above. Won’t give away too many details, but think green grass, lawn games, brunch-y egg dishes, lavender lemonade, heaps of blooming lilacs and a perfectly-preppy bar cart. Doesn’t get much more “spring-y” than that! Hope you’re all having a lovely start to the week, and pop back by this afternoon for the sweetest strawberry-picking feature I’ve been dying to share! xo
