Is your Monday morning off to a summery start yet? Well it’s about to be, ’cause today we’re kicking off an entire week devoted to summer picnics here on CamilleStyles.com! Our whole team has been loving the idea of a July afternoon devoted to lounging in the great outdoors with good friends and delicious food, so we decided to spend a few days sharing all the al fresco inspiration we can get our hands on. Think recipes, décor, picnic basket packing lists and even what to wear and how to style it! Today’s board is the inspiration I’ve been working from for a picnic table shoot that we’re working on this morning. We style so many special occasion tables around here, I thought it would be fun to translate some of those tips and tricks to an uber-casual picnic table setting…because even a picnic party should look festive, right? Blue gingham, yellow stripes, baguette sandwiches, mason jars and fruit tartlets are some of the ideas I’m working with, and I can’t wait to show you how it all comes together tomorrow. And while we’re on the subject – do you guys have any burning questions you’d like to have answered about summer picnicking? Let me know…it’s going to be a fun week! xo

What a great idea! Our family had a picnic this summer on the beach in NY with fresh bagels and coffee…perfect day!
Love your inspiration board! My question is what do you do about the heat? I live in FTL, but summertime is just sweltering. I may have to wait until winter to have a picnic! Love love love your blog and all of your ideas!
wellll….can definitely be tough, here in Austin, too! Go early in the day before the sun is at its brightest, dress in your coolest clothes and pack tons of ice cold water in a big ice chest! and just accept the fact that you’re going to sweat a bit… 😉
I agree…is is very hot here in Florida but there are times of the day that you can enjoy a nice picnic outside…it may even even have to be later in the day or under a shade tree with a cool breeze. My son had a baseball game the other day at 4:00 PM and it was very comfortable for us in the shade even though it was 88 degrees. …Or you can just sweat like Camille said. Hair up in a ponytail and you’re good to go!
Good pointers and tips. Yes, sweating is inevitable so hair up and light flowy clothing for sure! Thank you for both of your responses. I am going to make this summer picnic happen regardless of the heat. xo
Love picnics, yummy collage.
