My signature entertaining dish:
I’m still new to entertaining. My husband and I just got married, and are just starting to really entertain guests. We live in a tiny cottage and it can be a challenge, but we’re finding our way. I love to make hearty soups, but for now my signature dish is a mean cheese plate!
My must-have entertaining tool:
A big wood cutting board. Great for food prep and doubles as a cheese platter!

The restaurant meal I’ll never forget:
That’s tough. I would have to pick a dinner at Dio Deka right after my husband proposed to me. It’s our favorite restaurant, and he even had menus print “Taylor & Joey Forever!” The food is always good, but that night will always have a special place in my heart.
Always in my kitchen:
I always have lemons on hand. A little lemon adds so much to a dish or drink, and they look so pretty on display.
The taste I’m always craving:
Chocolate. I always finish a meal with a piece. I also love pretty much any dish that includes chocolate. I’m pretty addicted.
The perfect dinner party playlist includes:
Soulful indie artists, Frank Sinatra, and Adele. I like to have a playful mix of music.
My dream dinner guests:
All my friends who live far away. I would love a big party with the people we rarely get to see but love so very much!
My standard hostess outfit:
I love being comfortable (it’s the California girl in me), so I typically wear a chambray shirt, skinny jeans, and fun jewelry. However, I also love a fancy fete and I own lots of pretty cocktail dresses for those special occasions.
My entertaining style in 5 words or less:
Easy, fun, simple, with a hint of sparkle.

love her fresh California style~
I think that is the PERFECT way to describe Taylor’s style, both fashion-wise and in her home. She’s so refreshing, and even manages to make the most casual looks seem sophisticated and fun!
Love Taylor’s home (and her Chihuahua)! Any idea where the white kitchen table is from? I have been looking for one exactly like that.
Lemons, yes!
Natasha! Thanks! It’s really old and from my sister. When I get a chance I can ask her. xx
Amazing, thank you! 🙂
What a lovely feature! Adore Taylor and her fresh style (she’s one girl I’d love to have a dinner party with).
Briony xx
I am a sucker for a cheese plate with fruit! I love the chill vibe.
Natasha B wanted to know about the table. I got it about 5 years ago at Pier 1.
Great post here Tay.
Thank you so much Jodi (and Taylor)! Toronto has a few Pier 1 stores, I will have to check them out.
You are so inspirational – a cute little house and simple styling and party ideas – nothing pretentious about your entertaining and outlook! Thank you for this lovely post! (I’d love to see more of your cocktail dresses! )

Can’t wait to try that crostini, too… it’ll be the perfect fresh appetizer to serve at my first spring dinner party!
This might me one of my favorite “entertaining withs” – love this fresh kitchen and simple entertaining style (also heart the minty blue Kitchen Aid stand mixer). i cannot wait to try the strawberry crostini!
taylor is so special – her attainable style is so down-to-earth, and i love how it’s not too “fussy” or staged! x
