Why Mustard is the New Shade for Millennials

We love millennial pink as much as the next girl, but after a couple years of looking at everything through a blush colored lens, we’re ready for a new color to reign supreme. And with fall slowly but surely sneaking up on us, we’ve found ourselves favoring richer tones to keep us feeling cozy. Although yellow tends to garner a bad reputation for washing out skin tones, I truly believe anyone can pull off this shade, whether it’s in your home or through your fashion choices. When decorating a room, mustard yellow and other earthy tones bring in a mid-century modern aesthetic that’s so on trend right now. Try out a mustard linen duvet cover or yellow velvet accent pillows. We know you threw out all the yellow articles of clothing in your closet years ago, but we’re giving you permission to start adding them back in! The trick is to invest in a few key pieces with classic lines that’ll never go out of style. I’m especially loving that pair of mustard suede mules… And for those of you who aren’t ready to say goodbye to millennial pink for good, you’ll be happy to see that our favorite new color seems to complement that dusty rose shade perfectly.
