I love those first days of autumn where the air is just a little bit cooler and the leaves are just beginning to turn. It’s the start to my very favorite season and the perfect excuse to pull out your cozy comfy knits, which is exactly what we’ve done for this month’s Pulling it Off.  With some help from our friends at Kick Pleat (one of my favorite stores in Austin and with an awesome online shop!), we dressed our Boyfriend Sweaters up and down for two fall-friendly looks.

My pal Lauren Kelp is gorgeous in this first monochromatic grey look, which offers a dressier option for these stylish but unfitted sweaters. A miniskirt with tights works well with boyfriend sweaters because it balances out the bulkiness. Keep the silhouette slim on the bottom and avoid full skirts or any denim that isn’t stick straight with a skinny cut.

I loved the cozy knit on this particular grey sweater and the way it paired with our dressier, shiny metallic skirt. The texture of the two materials with Lauren‘s big gold watch make for a glamorous yet cool combination, don’t you think? Dressier details like this are important with these sweaters so we don’t take the cozy look too far.

We kept it casual with this second look, that pairs a slim cut pair of jeans with this gorgeous cashmere oat colored sweater from Kick Pleat. Again, we went slim fit on the bottom and let the baggier sweater be the focal point on top. This look is great with a pair of wedged booties or even a taller boot once it’s chillier outside.

I love the detail on this sweater and how the back is just a bit longer than the front. And I’d love to know: will you be sporting a boyfriend sweater this fall?
