‘Tis the season of cocktail parties and merriment, and for me, nothing says mix and mingle like the perfect full skirt! I loved teaming up with Chelsea Fullerton and Anthropologie for my last Pulling it Off post (not to worry; a new columnist will be taking the reigns from here!). It’s been such fun to dream up this column each month and as a farewell, I wanted to go out with a bang. So here’s everything you need for a girly, swirly holiday look that will send you sparkling into the new year!
It’s no secret that Anthropologie is my go-to for holiday-ready frocks and this gilded skirt is perfect for this time of year. I paired it with a simple lace top (a great closet staple) and this gorgeous green velvet bejeweled sash — I love a touch of velvet around the holidays, and after getting to wear this belt all afternoon, it shot straight to the top of my wishlist. It’s that perfect special something.
Because you’ll be tucking into the skirt, you want a top that’s thin like this pretty blouse, or a cardigan without too much bulk. Cinching in at the waist with a belt or a sash is a must as the smaller your waist looks, the more exaggerated the full skirt will appear.
I love a full skirt that hits right above the knee… and don’t be afraid to get one with some personality like a little sparkle, a fun pattern or a great color. It’s the holidays after all! Cheers and I hope you have a beautiful holiday season.
Get the look!
