When I first started working on this post, I was in the depths of an obsessive bicycle hunt… researching and pinning around the clock. But I’m proud to report that today I write as the glowing new owner of a shiny, semi-new set of wheels (Craigslist, for the win!). Chanel here, and if you’ve been to Austin you may know that we’re a super bike-friendly town. I don’t know if it’s the warm weather or the countless photos on the web of stylish ladies on their equally-stylish two-wheelers, but I’ve been dying to get on board with the trend and find the right bike for me. I finally scored this beauty in fire engine red (fancy, huh?) and it’s safe to say I’m in love. Of course, now everything I wear is considered it terms of ‘does this go with my bike?’, so I thought I’d put together a style board of one of my dream outfits for a day riding about town, complete with water bottle and biker shorts. Keep a look out for me in a bike lane near you, and to all you cyclists, I’d love any words of wisdom you have to share!

Yay, this is amazing, Chanel! I have that very same photo pinned on my Glamour pinterest board, and I’ve been dreaming about getting my own bike for ages…unfortunately, my city is not as bike-friendly as I’d wish for, so for now, I’ll just have to live vicariously through your own experiences (and outfits 🙂 Love the collection you’ve put together!

Fun! I feel like bike attire/ways to dress up your bike are topics that I wish were covered more in blogging, especially in a town like Austin. Love it!

So in love with the fact that the tires match the bike frame. Can you get tires in any color I wonder…? Because that would be rad.

Aren’t they the best thing ever? That bike is totally old-school-made-modern.

Oh, I’m such a bike lover and can’t wait to take my teal California beach cruiser for a spin on the streets of Austin. Just one more thing to look forward to this summer!

Such a cute post. I bought a new beach cruiser last Labor Day (after a similar obsessive hunt for the perfect one) and I can’t wait to log some miles on it this spring & summer! Thanks for the outfit ideas!

Really! It didn’t happen overnight, but after a few weeks of diligent checking I found just the right one. Good luck!

I love those bike shorts. I use to wear them underneath my dresses (pre-Spanx days).
