Ana here back with this month’s Iconic Hostess. For USA’s biggest holiday, I thought there was no one more fitting than the all America Lucille Ball. How fun does this vintage-inspired Thanksgiving look? I love the idea of finding different autumn colored goblets, like the red ones above, and mixing and matching them on the table. Whatever your traditions are, I hope you have a fun and restful holiday with family and loved ones. Here’s how I imagine Lucille would celebrate the big day:
The Drink: How about a cider bar? Good quality store bought or homemade cider with bottles of whiskey, apple slices, cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg. Yum! For the kiddos, leave out the whiskey and add a dollop of fresh whipped cream.
The Food: This one should be self-explanatory! Of course I imagine Lucille with a big pan of the classic green bean casserole with crunchy onions on top — seems like the kind of kitschy Americana dish she would love. Mashed potatoes are always the biggest hit at our Thanksgiving. I have the recipe memorized by heart!
The Entertainment: An after meal nap, football and pie are all you need after the big meal. Find a cozy blanket (I love the one in this collage!) and light the fire for a lazy night in.
I’d love to know: What’s your family’s favorite part of the Thanksgiving meal?
Happy Thanksgiving!
