Classic pumpkin flavored macarons are a great addition to any fall party, but we wanted to jazz ours up to look unquestionably Halloween-ish. Get the instructions to recreate this fun party treat below, or make a simpler version by coloring the entire macaron orange, then using a black food coloring marker to draw a grinning jack-o-lantern face.

Creepy Pumpkin Macarons

Supplies:

  • light orange macarons
  • orange, brown and green food coloring markers (I love this brand)
  • floral wire

Instructions:

  1. Start with freshly made macarons. Any pastel color will do, but we think light orange looks best. And of course, if they’re pumpkin flavored, all the better.
  2. Use the orange food coloring marker to draw a colored in circle on one side of the macaron.
  3. With the brown food coloring marker, carefully draw a thin line outlining the orange circle. Then draw curved lines as pictured, making the orange circle look like a basketball.
  4. Then use the brown marker to create curved corners on each drawn line, as pictured. Then use the green marker to draw leafy greens to the top of the pumpkin.
  5. Cut a piece of floral wire in half, then twist around one of the markers.
  6. Insert the twisted floral wire in between the two meringues. Option to add a second, thinner twisted floral wire onto the first, or cut a leaf out of a sugar sheet and insert at the stem.

Ingredients for a Halloween Cocktail

Up next is a specialty cocktail recipe that’s just as delicious as it is sinister. This year, ditch the keg for made-to-order servings of this Poison Berry Smash
