10 Healthy Foods That’ll Keep You Feeling Fuller for Longer

January 12th, 2018

Yesterday, I happily unpacked the lunch I’d brown bagged that morning, feeling virtuous about my healthy arugula and roasted veg salad. Healthy eating #goals!! I devoured it (I’ll admit, while emailing with my non-eating hand) and then thought (a) where did my lunch go, and (b) I’m still starving. Why is it that sometimes a modest-sized meal leaves me feeling stuffed, while a big bowl of something else has me hovering near the freezer taking bites of Ben & Jerry’s 30 minutes later? (Please tell me this doesn’t happen to just me.) To help in my quest to eat more mindfully this year, I rounded up 10 foods that are scientifically proven to keep you feeling fuller for longer, along with my favorite recipes that include each one. Fill up on these nutrition powerhouses to keep mindless snacking at bay and end meals feeling satisfied and happy.

  1. This is an awesome list! Happy to say that most of them I already eat on a regular basis. Although, I’m still working on eating carrots more often. The dirt-like laste is rough! Oatmeal is definitely such a great option for breakfast. There have been times when it keep me so full that I forgot to eat lunch. Any suggestions? Thanks for the tips.

  4. Apples are where it’s at for me! With carrots I tend to go overboard on the hummus or other dips, but apples are so good just on their own. Plus it’s so easy to get different varieties throughout the year! The slightly more sour ones do a really great job at curbing my cravings, oddly enough.

Bookmarking this ASAP! I’m so guilty of still feeling hungry after a meal. I love oatmeal and avocado, but I was really surprised about the carrots and the soup so I think I’ll try that out!
