Healthy & Easy Apple Crumble

Perfect for a fall gathering, this lighter crisp retains all the classic flavors—without feeling too heavy.


Ingredients

For the filling: 

  • 6 apples, peeled, cored and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin spice blend (I love Blume)
  • 2 teaspoon arrowroot powder
  • pinch of pink Himalayan sea salt

For the crumble:

  • 1 cup gluten-free rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 3 tablespoons date coconut sugar
  • 4 tablespoons melted coconut oil

Instructions

For the filling:

  1. Combine all ingredients into a saucepan and simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally for 15-20 minutes. Once tender, add to pie plate or oven safe vessel.

For the crumble:

  1. Mix the crumble ingredients in a bowl and sprinkle on top of the apples. Bake for 30 mins at 400 F.

Make ahead: Can be made ahead and warmed up in the oven for 10 minutes for the most delectable smell while your guests are mingling.
