For the filling:
- 6 apples, peeled, cored and cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin spice blend (I love Blume)
- 2 teaspoon arrowroot powder
- pinch of pink Himalayan sea salt
For the crumble:
- 1 cup gluten-free rolled oats
- 1/2 cup almond flour
- 3 tablespoons date coconut sugar
- 4 tablespoons melted coconut oil
Instructions
For the filling:
- Combine all ingredients into a saucepan and simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally for 15-20 minutes. Once tender, add to pie plate or oven safe vessel.
For the crumble:
- Mix the crumble ingredients in a bowl and sprinkle on top of the apples. Bake for 30 mins at 400 F.
Make ahead: Can be made ahead and warmed up in the oven for 10 minutes for the most delectable smell while your guests are mingling.
