Spicy Margarita

Description

Consider this your go-to spicy margarita recipe. With good tequila, a mix of citrus juices, and a Tajín rim, it’s pretty close to perfection.


Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1.5 ounces tequila blanco
  • 1 ounce lime juice
  • .5 ounces freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey or agave
  • Top with a splash of sparkling water if needed
  • Tajín rim
  • Sliced chili pepper to garnish and add spice (can use jalapeño or a ghost pepper for added spice)

Instructions

  1. To a cocktail shaker, add tequila, lime juice, orange juice, and your choice of sweetener. Fill the cocktail shaker with ice, cover, and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds.
  2. For the Tajín rim: Place Tajín on a small plate. Run a lime wedge along the rim of your glass and dip the rim into the Tajín to coat.
  3. Fill the glass with ice and pour in the margarita. Top with a splash of sparkling water if needed. Garnish with sliced chili pepper. Serve immediately.
