Creating Our Dream Powder Room for the New Studio

In case you missed it, we broke ground on a new office space right before the holidays — well, new to us we should say. The Old West Austin bungalow is actually turning 100 years old this year! There are so many aspects of the remodel that we’re excited about, but the bathroom has been one of the most fun rooms to plan so far. Lately we have six or more gals working in the office on any given day, and we’re in dire need of a well-lit space where we can freshen up for photoshoots (and also take care of less glamorous tasks like washing glue and paint off of our hands). We realized what we didn’t need in this particular space was a bathtub or shower, hence: the powder room. Fortunately, our team was in complete agreement about the overall look we wanted. We’ve been dreaming of a clean white space with exposed plumbing and polished nickel hardware. Maybe a touch of brass here or there. And of course — plenty of space for makeup, hand towels, and a favorite candle or two. We’re teaming up with our friends at Kohler and getting inspiration from their IDEAS resource to design the powder bath of our dreams, and here’s a peek at the inspiration board we’re working from as it starts to take shape. We’d love to hear what you think, and stay tuned for the final reveal this spring!
