Valentine’s Day is quite a polarizing holiday, isn’t it? Round up a test  group, and you’ll likely be able to draw a line straight down the middle between the V-Day lovers, and those who absolutely loathe it.  If you know me at all, you know that I’m a proud member of the first camp — You mean to tell me there’s one day a year where we get to craft and make silly puns and tell everyone we love them? Best holiday ever! Since there’s nothing better than showering loved ones with random trinkets and tokens of affection, we’ve created one that makes good use of all those cardboard toilet paper tubes, and is easy enough for just about anyone to make. Fill yours with confetti or wrapped candy for a treat that’s sure to make a convert out of even your most anti friends.

Instructions

  1. Coat the toilet paper tube with white spray paint until covered.
  2. Once completely dry, use your hands to press the tube flat. Since you’ll be writing in the center of the flattened tube, strategically position the “seams” of the cardboard so that they’re not in your writing area.
  3. Use a paint pent to hand write your message. Allow to dry.
  4. Use your fingers to pinch and fold down the sides on one end of the tube as pictured. Fill the pocket with a fun treat, then pinch and fold the two sides on the other end.
