DIY {To Dye For}

April 5th, 2011

So excited to share this seasonal 2-in-1 DIY project for a chic Easter table… and it couldn’t be easier! All it took was the average Easter egg-dye kit to create dip-dyed place cards {displayed beautifully in golden egg place card holders from Paloma’s Nest} and some not-so-classic dyed Easter eggs. Follow the jump for step-by-step instructions & images, and be sure to stay tuned for the completed table…

Dip-Dyed Place Cards & Easter Eggs

  • Follow instructions on egg-dye package; we dissolved the dye tablets with water (rather than vinegar or lemon juice) to achieve these pastel shades
  • Boil eggs
  • While the eggs are warm, dip each into a single color dye at an angle & allow to dry; the longer you keep them submerged, the darker the color will turn out
  • Once dry, dip each egg into a second color & allow to dry
  • Dip place cards in dye at an angle and allow to dry

    So clever, I love it camille!

    Yay, so glad you ladies enjoyed! I’ve been gravitating towards all things watercolor-y lately, so loved the way that these came out.
