This week we’re counting down to a chic little St. Patty’s Day get-together. We’ve covered cocktails, sweets and DIY details…now all that’s left is a sweet little centerpiece in shades of emerald. To recreate this, you’ll need pale green garden roses, hydrangeas and a pot of shamrocks (they’re in every grocery store this month!) Follow the jump for step-by-step instructions…

First clean the flowers by removing all leaves and thorns…

I started this bouquet with a traditional “hand-tied” technique: Lay the largest hydrangea in one hand. Lay a few roses across it, and wrap your hand around the flowers. Make a quick twist with your wrist so that the green parts slightly move into the middle. Repeat this process with the remaining hydrangeas and roses.

Clip the stems to fit snugly in your vase, then lower the arrangement into the water. Using shears, snip stems from the shamrock plant, and tuck the clovers evenly throughout the arrangement.

And you’re done! Pretty, right? I think I’d take gorgeous green flowers over a pot ‘o gold any day!
