the best podcasts of 2018

I started getting into podcasts about 2 years ago, and now I honestly can’t imagine life without them. I look forward to long drives in my car and even relish layovers at the airport because they give me unobstructed time to learn something new, dig into an interview with a fascinating person, or get inspired in work or life — all through my earbuds. These are the 5 podcasts I come back to again and again because they always leave me excited to live life to the fullest – and of course I love discovering new ones, so tell me yours in the comments!

Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations

It’s not surprising that Oprah is the queen of inspiring podcasts: she has access to the most incredible voices across wellness and spirituality and knows exactly how to pull out the universal tidbits that resonate. I always feel a little wiser after listening to her SuperSoul Conversations, with applicable life tips I can try out in all my relationships.

That’s So Retrograde

Wellness geek-outs and deep belly laughs all within every episode? This is so my kinda show and I’ve recommended it to just about every health nut friend I know. The girls keep it so real and relatable, but I always learn something that I want to try out and or do a deeper dive into, from diet to fitness to emotional health issues. And I love anything that makes me giggle through my morning commute.

The goop Podcast

This one’s pretty new, but the wellness-focused topics and interview subjects are SO on point; I always learn something new and leave feeling curious and engaged. Gwyneth and Chief Content Officer Elise Loehnen take turns interviewing inspiring people across medical, spiritual, and creative industries, and I love how they’re not afraid to dig deep and occasionally get a little controversial.

How I Built This

Anyone who runs a business, has a side hustle, or just loves learning the often dramatic stories behind some of the coolest companies in the world will be riveted by Guy Raz’s interviews with innovators, entrepreneurs and idealists—and the movements they built.

10% Happier with Dan Harris

Okay, if you haven’t read Harris’ book by the same name, I highly recommend picking it up or going back to the beginning to learn about the story that inspired this podcast. It involves a panic attack live on Good Morning America, which sent Harris on a quest for enlightenment. On his podcast, he interviews cool people who bring intention and awareness into their successful lives.
