Fold-Your-Own Geometric Envelopes

supplies


a printable stencil for each envelope shape:

freeform rectangle

triangle

hexagon

diamond

square

colorful wrapping paper (we used Paper Mart's two-sided color matte in aqua/seafoam, and their flat sheet gift wrap in yellow stripe)

pencil

scissors

tape

instructions


  1. Cut out along the solid line of the stencil for your desired envelope shape, then trace the stencil onto your wrapping paper.
  2. Cut the shape out of the wrapping paper.
  3. On the stencil, cut along the dashed line. Discard the scraps. Then trace the remaining interior stencil onto the center of your wrapping paper shape. (Keep this stencil to later use for your card stock paper inserts)
  4. On your wrapping paper shape, carefully fold along the traced lines to create your envelope flaps. Once your card stock insert is filled out and place in the center of the wrapping paper envelope, fold these flaps back over and tape them in place to seal.
