Ingredients
for the broccoli:
- 2-3 large heads of broccoli
- olive oil
- salt and pepper
for the glaze - use below as a guide and adjust to your own tastes:
- 1/3 cup of chili oil
- 1 tbsp of miso paste
- zest of 1 lime
- juice of 1/2 lime
- 2 tbsp of honey
- 1/4 cup of soy sauce
- 1 small shallot, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
- Prep the broccoli. Using a vegetable peeler, peel off the outer layer of the broccoli stem. Slice the broccoli into large pieces and arrange onto two large sheet trays. Make sure to space the broccoli out so they have room to crisp. Add olive oil, salt and pepper. Bake for 35-40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until very dark golden brown. I sometimes let this go until just before burnt to get really crispy. For additional crispiness, set on broil for 2-4 minutes at the end.
- While the broccoli is baking, make the glaze. Add all of the ingredients to a bowl and combine. Taste and adjust as needed.
- To serve, drizzle glaze over hot broccoli. Serve with fresh herbs if desired.
