matchbox match box favor gift craft valentine valentine's day cute easy diy

I have the fondest memories of school on Valentine’s Day, don’t you? I remember leaving the house decked out in shades of red and pink (uniform permitting), and handing out sweet little valentine’s to everyone I knew. Whether it was a piece of candy or tiny cards with names handwritten on them, the day was always buzzing with friendly exchanges between classmates. This year, I’ve decided to revive the tradition (grownup style) by creating these matchbox valentines. Small and economical, they’re perfect for handing out on the days leading up to the 14th… and since I’m totally feeling the love these days, I couldn’t resist sharing the idea with all of you! Keep reading for the downloadable template and piece-of-cake instructions! more +

Morning, everyone! Claire here, with a great little project to add interest and storage to any space. Remember two weeks ago when I asked for your opinion on which side table you liked the best? You all had so many wonderful suggestions, but in the end, the votes leaned in favor of design #1.  I’m so excited to share the final product today, with a few personal touches added in! DIY :: My Brass Valentine

brass metal multimedia valentine card diy keepsake valentine's day

On the agenda for the next few days: craft like a mad woman with hopes of sending cards out in time for delivery by the 14th. But this year I wanted the Valentines to be special… so I’m thinking that my friends and family might be pleasantly surprised to open an envelope and find a handmade metal card (paper is so last year), with an embossed message. Don’t be intimidated! This was actually super easy to make, and I love the thought of a little brass card living in the folds of a wallet as a keepsake, and a daily reminder of a shared love (of course, you’ll want to be mindful of it going through airport security!) Keep reading for the instructions, and I’d love to know what Valentine’s you’re all creating this year. more +

DIY :: Valentine’s Favor Bags

valentine's day granola snack favor bags DIY craft brown paper red white

I’m aware that I might be gaining a few enemies by saying it, but I have to admit that I’ve never been crazy about granola. However (and here’s where I hope we can become friends again), Camille’s recipe has thankfully made a changed woman out of me… I’m obsessed with this stuff. And since everyone loves receiving sweetly packaged food, I love the idea of pouring your heart into a whopping batch of homemade granola, and scooping the treat into these Valentine’s-themed favor bags. Whether you’re making one for a special somebody or a dozen for your closest girlfriends, recipients won’t be disappointed to receive your heartfelt (and mouthwatering) gift. The big game is just days away, and I can hardly contain my excitement for nearly four solid hours of incredible commercials football. Since nothing says ‘celebration‘ quite like confetti, we created these football-shaped cascarones (or confetti eggs) to add a festive element to your game-day, perfect for smashing when your team scores! DIY :: Super bowl Cupcake Toppers

It’s a good thing the Superbowl is a week before Valentine’s Day, isn’t it? It really gives the boys one last chance to flaunt their machismo before things go all pink & flowery ten days later. Of course, we can’t possibly let the biggest game day of the year pass without somehow incorporating our pretty (yet still thematic) touches here and there. So for those of you hosting a game-watching party this weekend, we’ve created these sweet little football pinwheels that are perfect for dressing up cupcakes or sliders. Keep reading for the template and step-by-step instructions, and who knows… these might be just the good luck charm that your team needs! more +

DIY :: Floral Pin Card Holders

We thought we’d kick off the weekend with a project that is so simple, I can’t believe we hadn’t thought of it before. See that fabulous gold menu card holder on our all-white  buffet? If you hadn’t already guessed it, it’s actually made of a dolled up florist’s pin frog! Usually used to keep flowers perked upright in a vase, we realized that with a few minor tweaks, these spiky disks would make the perfect place card or menu card holders. Keep reading for the instructions, because this is one DIY you can’t afford not to do!

Transformed :: Taking Sides

Since I (Claire) successfully conquered my empty wall dilemma, I thought I’d keep the ball rolling by taking on the rest of the living room projects on my honey do list. My small space and large dog make it a challenge to squeeze in a coffee table, so I realized I needed some fab new side tables to flank my recently reupholstered sofa. As I began my hunt, research revealed so many options that indecisiveness quickly took over, so I need your help! I’d love to hear from all of you: Which of these end tables would you like to see me create? Pitch in your thoughts and ideas, and stay tuned for the reveal in two weeks!
