Do you have your holiday outfits planned yet? I’ve learned that feeling confident and stylish throughout the season does require some advance planning, as schedules gets increasingly busy with events that bring with them all sorts of fashion conundrums. Such as… how to look chic yet appropriate for my husband’s company party? How to dress up but also stay warm when I have to head to a formal event on a freezing night? And what does that “festive” dress code on my friend’s holiday party invite mean, anyway? To avoid pre-party panic (or last-minute impulse buys), I’ve started getting prepared by choosing a couple of versatile dresses that can be dressed up, dressed down, and require no other thought than what shoes and bag to pair them with. This blush pink Jewel Embellished Dress is perfect for so many holiday occasions: swanky cocktails with girlfriends (at LaV, pictured here), a festive dinner party at a friends’ home, and even a romantic holiday wedding. I may not normally think to shop at Chico’s for party looks, but my mind was changed when they sent me an early peek of their current holiday collection, brimming with sparkly jewelry, embellished dresses, and slim-cut dressy pants perfect for effortless holiday dressing. The best part about a statement dress like this (especially one with embellishments that serve as “built-in” jewelry) is that it requires little extra adornment. I kept it breezy by wearing my hair down in loose waves, and added a glittering gold cuff, the Royalle Clutch (which reminds me of a glamorous vintage piece I might have found in my grandmother’s closet) and simple nude pumps (that always make legs look a mile long… trust me.) Though you could certainly pair with a cropped jacket in colder locales, for Austin’s typically-mild December I topped the dress with a faux fur cowl that adds glamour and warmth in equal measure.I’d love to hear what you’re all dreaming up for your holiday party looks this year! Will you roll out the glam with sequins and sparkle? Or do you keep things cozier in plush materials like velvet and wool? Do you stick with a dress, or do a dressed-up pants look? Or maybe even a chic jumpsuit? I’ve got one look down and several to go, so spill your favorite holiday pieces this season in the comments!
