Culottes are back, people.
They’ve actually been back for quite awhile now, and I could not be more pleased. Who doesn’t love a good pair of pants that feels as fashion-y and pulled together as a skirt? Culottes first made their debut in fashion during the reign of King Henry III of France in the early 1500s, and ever since, whoever is brave enough to wear them makes quite a fashion statement! I personally love them for the fact that they give the flowing lines of a skirt without any of the usual restrictions in movement and ease. Like everything trendy, culottes will no doubt soon return to a distant fashion memory, but for now, I’m relishing this moment of their stylish comeback as the new “It” garment.

Oh no, I didn’t like them way back when, I still don’t. Not very flattering either.
I appreciate the comfort and convenience of culottes, but if you’re petite like I am, they can be a difficult look to pull off. I love some of your picks. Will definitely look at those Alice + Olivia ones!

I’m on the shorter spectrum as well, and that’s very true, some culottes can look unflattering, especially if they are very wide leg. ASOS has a really nice selection of petite sizes in high waisted trousers and culottes if you are in the market! Quick tip: the higher the waist the easier it is to pull them off. 🙂
I. Love. My. Culottes.
