Kristin’s Fearless + Fun Home

June 14th, 2016

Today’s home tour is every bit as colorful and energetic as its vivacious owner, Kristin Gish, co-owner of SUPPLY, Austin-based tastemaker, and all-around social butterfly. The first time I set foot in Kristin’s home was at the baby shower of my friend Kim (also Kristin’s business partner), and I was immediately floored by her unabashed use of color and unique way of mixing traditional elements with surprising modern details. Click through and read all about how Kristin’s family ended up calling such a one-of-a-kind space their home… As she says, “We are in Texas now. Go big or go home.”

Love this house! Back in 1975 we built a house and in my two-year-old daughter’s room I used a pink rosebud print wallpaper on two walls and hot pink on the trim work. The rest of the room was mostly white with touches of shades of pink. Everyone thought I was nuts. You just didn’t paint trim work a color back then. The painters loved it and brought their families to see it. I guess I was just 41 years ahead of the trend.

Wow. What an awesome story! I totally imagine how cool that room was… you were totally ahead of your time.
