Book Deal | Camille StylesI’m seriously giddy this morning, because, let’s face it: there’s nothing more fun than finally getting to spill the beans about something that’s been in the works for a long time. So without further ado…

I’m writing a book!

Yippee!!! Authoring a book has been a big dream of mine for years, and I’m so pleased to announce that I’ve signed a deal with William Morrow (a division of HarperCollins.) I’m so thankful that this is happening at a point in my life when I feel like I’ve zeroed in on what I’m really passionate about: infusing everyday moments with beauty…celebrating life’s little details…entertaining that feels effortless and, above all, fun. So that’s what it’ll be about!

Over the next year, we’ll be sharing a few sneak peeks as we photograph and create 100% original content for the book. I know it’ll be a ton of hard work, but I also know that when you’re this excited and passionate about what you’re creating, nothing’s more fun. And please don’t hesitate to leave comments and let me know what areas of entertaining you’d love to read about – I want this to be an amazing resource that makes hostessing feel effortless, so I’d love to know what areas tend to be challenging.

As always, thanks for your daily love and support. All of your comments and sweet words of encouragement really are one of the greatest joys in my day, and it’s incredible to have this community of friends who I get to talk with on a daily basis. You guys are the best, and thanks for being there to share this next journey with me! xo

Congratulations, Camille! How wonderful for you to be able to realize this dream of yours!
As for your question regarding which areas I’d like to see in your book: I’d really love the holidays (as in Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc.) as a topic, and how to entertain effortlessly during such stressful periods. I’m sure your book will be marvellous. Can’t wait to get my hands on a copy!
    xo, Gabriella

    • Hi Gabriella – thanks for sharing that because it’s something that I’ve already been mulling over in my mind…whether or not I should stick to the more unexpected types of celebrations, or include some of the classics like Thanksgiving and Christmas. Your comment reminds me that for many people, the holidays may be the only time of year they entertain… so it may be super important to have some of my best, most solid inspiration centered around this time of year. Thank you!!

  6. Sarah says:

    Wow, congrats great news!
I am defintely not gifted in the area of entertaining so there’s lots I need to learn. One aspect I’d love for you to address would be how to entertain on a weeknight if you only get home from work at 6pm. With family commitments and what not it always seems really tricky to get people together during the weekend so we often resort to week night entertaining but I have a very inflexible 9 to 5 at a corporate law firm so any tips on how to make that work would be great.

    • Yes, absolutely love this! I feel like your conundrum is experienced by so many professionals, and it’s really at the heart of my message with this book: instead of throwing up your hands and just not entertaining at all, why not find small-but-effective ways to make weeknight entertaining simple on the host… but the highlight of everyone’s week? This is great, thanks Sarah! xx

  7. Congratulations! Your style and aesthetic are so spot-on and pretty and I can’t wait to read your book. I haven’t been excited about a book coming out before but I literally can’t wait. If it’s anything like your blog I know it will be a huge success!

  8. Congratulations! That’s amazing! Can’t wait to see what you are working on!

  9. Camille, this is exciting news 🙂 I cannot wait to read this gem of a book!

  10. Elyse says:

Wow! Congratulations, this is going to be so excited and rewarding =) (On a side side note… is the white chair pictured above a Herman Miller or another brand? I’m making that purchase today!)

    • Elyse, it is a total knockoff that I found on eBay. Feels super high-quality, but for a fraction of the price. Definitely worth poking around to see what you can find. Good luck!

  11. Lisa says:

Yay!!! No one deserves this more, and I can’t wait to see how it all comes together!!

  12. Congratulations! I am so happy for you.

  18. Sam says:

So excited to see what you have in store. This will definitely be on my bookshelf. x

  19. Giulia says:

Congratulations! I have two things that really speak to me on your blog – one is your colour collections you do on Monday’s and the other is your seasonal take on things. I would love to see both of those captured in your book.

    • Oh my gosh, you have no idea how excited I am to read your comment Giulia… both of those elements will play major parts in the book. Color and season are always the first place I start when planning a party, or any kind of project for that matter! Thanks so much for sharing!

      • Giulia says:

I’m really looking forward to it. I just finished a big food shoot on Spring Greens which will be out soon – colour and season ;). Also, we sat at the same lunch table at ALT – I was next to Chanel…small world!

  20. Kerri says:

Hi Camille, How exciting! Congratulations! I am a huge fan of yours and hope to be one the first to pick up a copy of the book… I am launching a lifestyle blog next week “inspiring women to make everyday a special occasion by infusing beauty, design, and love into their everyday business and life.” So when I read your words this morning, I got chills to think for a wee second that we were on the same wavelength. You made my day! Congratulations again!

    • Oh my gosh – SO on the same wavelength! Can’t wait to read your blog. Sounds amazing!

      • Kerri says:

Oh my goodness, you have no idea how flattered I am that you even responded to me. You have truly made my week! I always joke with my friends that I aspire to be a like of you, Tobi Fairley, Giada De Laurentiis, and Jack Canfield – all in one! You are such an inspiration to me… can’t wait for the book! I am looking forward to seeing your work in print.

Also, thanks for the information on

My husband and I both have websites there and LOVE how simple it is to use.

  32. Shanya says:

Congratulations! I am a fan from South Africa. I am especially looking forward to some tips for effortless entertaining and parties for babies/toddlers. I loved your feature on your little one’s 6/12 birthday!

    • Well you’re in luck, because ever since I had Phoebe, I am a bit obsessed with kids’ parties!! I love the colorful, whimsical sense of fun that each one affords, and you’ll see at least one party in the book totally devoted to the kiddos. Thanks so much for reading from South Africa, that is so exciting to hear!!

  33. Chloe Moon says:

Congratulations & I wish you all the best of luck!! =) I’m a new follower & I can’t wait to hear more!

  34. Jessi Rayhill says:

Congrats! That is such an amazing opportunity that you’ll conquer beautifully. I am currently hosting a engagement party in April and one of the things that might be really helpful and a “different” take in your book would be a section on determining how much to buy/prepare. In terms of food, seated dinner vs. horderves and then of course drinks! Thank you for having a daily inspiration ready for us every morning, and good luck!

    • Thanks Jessi, this is great. Since I started my career in catering, that’s actually a big area of expertise of mine, and I’m always shocking my husband by buying the EXACT right amount of food and drink for our parties. 😉 I’ll be sure to share all my secrets!!

  35. Shay Lianna says:

Congratulations!!! This is so exciting. Can I pre-order it now?!?!!??! Haha, seriously I will be waiting eagerly for this 🙂
    xo Shay

  36. Congratulations Camille! I know it will be amazing! Can’t wait!

  37. This is such incredible news – congratulations again!
    Lexi @ Glitter, Inc.

  38. I love Shay’s comment above, because those were my exact thoughts. Can we pre-order today? So looking forward to watching the process unfold – your readers are so lucky to be able to experience this with you. Congratulations, Camille! x

  39. Congratulations! How exciting! I can’t wait to get a copy or 5!! Best of luck on your new endeavor!

  40. Y says:

    Congrats on your new endeavor!
I would love to share this experience with you, and hear about small-space entertaining in your book.. if possible 🙂
Small NYC apartment with big dreams… i.e.– my kitchen is in the living room, great for cohorting with guests and prepping food + drinks at the same time (haha)

    • I love parties in, ahem, more intimate spaces since, like you said, you get to be part of the party while you’re prepping food & drinks! Love this idea though, and will definitely include some tips and examples of small space entertaining. It can be the most stylish, for sure!

  41. Emi says:

Hi camille 🙂 I lilalove your blog! Seriously last night I dreamed about those easter eggs!! I’m a 16 german girl living in argentina for one year and I don’t know but in Germany everything about christmas & easter is more extreme! So I’m thinking about what I can do on Sunday for my family here, so thaaank you for the egg post 😀 And now i’m reading that your dream come true I’m so happy for you 🙂 I’d like to see something about christmas too because I love this time 🙂

  42. Jennifer says:

Congratulations! I know a few people above mentioned more traditional holidays and I would second that, at least mixed in with others. My husband and I are moving into a new house in the fall and we both know are a bit overwhelmed by the idea of hosting our families for Thanksgiving or Christmas! Good luck with everything…your blog is one of my favorite daily web stops!

    • Thanks so much Jennifer – and great input, too. I have a couple disastrous stories to share from the first holidays we hosted, but at least they make good stories! 😉 Now hosting Thanksgiving at our house is one of my favorite days of the entire year. Will definitely share advice and ideas!

  43. Chris says:

I’ve already made a space on my bookshelf……right beside Linnea in Monet’s Garden.
May your book adventure lead you to new places of beauty and imagination!

  44. Congratulations, Camille! Now this is one book I’ll be anxiously awaiting, since I love everything you post on this book, and I’m sure it’ll be full of stylish, effortless and glamorous tips! What I’d love to read about is flower arranging on a budget, creating the perfect menu for every holiday (easy question, I know 🙂 and how to find the perfect contractor for bigger bashes (weddings, etc).
I’m sooooo excited for you, Camille, and so proud to be able to witness your success!

    Macarons and Pearls

  45. Congratulations Camille! Your effortless, warm, and charming entertaining style is something that everyone looks to achieve. I can see your book becoming a must own for any aspiring hostess. Good luck with the process and know you have a multitude of fans cheering you on!

  46. Shana says:

So happy for you and excited to read it! Could you share where your shoes are from? I have been looking all over for sandals for this summer.

  47. Todd Wagner says:

Very exciting Camille. You deserve nothing but the best!!!

  48. Its is great to see the right people putting down the right things on a book. You also inspire me to not let go of my dreams. I’m sure it will be a wonderful experience and I’d like you to share your process here on the blog as much as you can. My first thought on a challenging thing would be hosting a birthday party or any other occasion at home (a normal seized and furnished one, of course). I’d love to see more inspiring ideas on that.
Good luck and enjoy your first book 🙂

    • Lisa, you’ll definitely see some birthday party content in the pages. I love finding little ways to make a birthday seem out of the ordinary and for the guest-of-honor to feel incredibly celebrated. Thanks for the kind words and for sharing!

  49. Congratulations! I’m so excited, and will probably be one of the first in line to purchase! Your style is impeccable, and I’m sure your book will be too. 🙂

  50. Congrats! Your site is something I constantly tweet articles from, so as a fellow blogger, I support your book already! I also appreciate that you are doing all new content!

    • Thanks Carlene – I agree that while doing all new content makes for an intense schedule, I can’t imagine doing it any other way! This book is going to be my (second) baby for the next year, and I want it to be full of the most inspiring work I’ve ever created.

  51. Caitlin says:

CONGRATS!! So proud of what you’ve built over the years. It’s been so fun seeing your business grow and I’m lucky to call you a dear friend. Can’t wait for it to come out! xx

  52. Camille,
I couldn’t be more over the moon about your news! You are the perfect person & blog to be working on a book. As a huge fan of your style & advice – I can’t wait to have what I know will be a STUNNING visual reference piece for my collection.

As I have shared with on my blog before – I think you are the “bees knees”.

Can’t wait to see all that you will be sharing!
    Best Wishes,

Camille!! CONGRATULATIONS!! Long-time reader who has enjoyed your blog so much, and marveled at your taste/talent! I am not one bit surprised. I am as proud as a mother, er, older sister! : ) Can’t wait to read it! Again, congratulations! You have earned this with your hard work and talent!!!

  55. Wow, about time! Haha! Your posts are my daily inspiration and I can’t think of anything more perfect than flipping through the physical version, cup of coffee at my side, to be sure. Many congratulations and so looking forward to the release.

  56. Meredith says:

Camille, congratulations on this accomplishment! I will certainly be ordering the book as soon as possible. While I consider myself an accomplished and well seasoned entertainer, I struggle with pulling together impromptu get together while maintaining a healthy budget. I am in my mid-twenties and love having people over for drinks on the deck or spur-of-the-moment Thursday night dinner. I also come from a culture where stopping by unannounced to say hello, drop off flowers or seek refuge from the rain whilst running is the norm. How do I maintain a pantry and fridge filled with goodies that require 5-minute assembly but seem incredibly thoughtful and polished while still following my budget? For a single person it is unrealistic (and far to tempting) to consistently have 5 options of gourmet cheese in the fridge. It can become expense, risk going bad (if no one stops by with flowers) and could result in hours and hours of pilates.

    • Oooh this is a great one Meredith, thanks for sharing. I love the idea of having a “well-stocked pantry” that has a few special ingredients (with a long shelf life) for spur of the moment guests. And how cool that your house is a place where friends and family feel free to come and go? I think that people do far too little of that these days! Will definitely be including some great ideas for being a chic hostess on-the-fly and affordably.

  57. Congratulations! What fun news.

  58. delia says:

Yay I was hoping you would be writing a book. I can’t wait for it 🙂

I’m so proud of you, Camille. I’m sure like everything you touch it will be fabulous and full of creative ideas that are useful for all of us. I look at your blog daily and love it and will certainly be looking forward to your book.

  64. Camille! So over the moon excited for you. Your work and your brand is lovely and I can’t wait to see it come to life — on my bookshelf! Congratulations!

  65. Wow, so excited for you Camille!!! I can’t wait to see what you come up with. Book signing in New Orleans? 🙂

  66. Congrats, Camille! I hope you come to Phoenix for a signing! You are a great inspiration!

  67. Woo-Hoo! I’m beyond thrilled for you, Camille! This book will be amazing & a huge success. Already counting down to add it to my bookshelf next year & look forward to following along with you on your writing journey! XO

  68. I think you were destined for this. You are my absolute favorite lifestyle blog and I learn something new all the time here. When you started teaming up with my favorite food blog, Love and Lemons, I knew I could trust your advice on just about anything! Best of luck, I’ll be ready for your LA book tour!

  69. Marianne says:

So excited for you, Camille! I will be buying it as soon as it’s available. Be sure to add Seattle to your book tour! Congrats!

  70. Congratulations, lady! I cannot wait to see the final product + so look forward to following along on your journey.

  71. I love to entertain and I am always looking for new inspirations. From what I have seen on your website, I am sure it will be a fabulous book. Would love to feature it on our entertaining tips section of our website when its available. Enjoy the journey.

  72. Janelle Carlson says:

Congratulations, Camille, such exciting news!! I’m sure that your ‘second baby’ will be every bit as beautiful, inspirational and informative as your amazing blog. When I think of your brand, two things immediately come to mind: beauty and peace. You make all of your projects seem so effortless, and they turn out so pretty. It will be so fun to follow along as the book grows…you are one brave chick to take this on with a newborn!! 😉
Wishing you the best of luck on this journey.

  73. Michaela says:

Hi Camille! I’m so excited for you– congrats times a million. What a wonderful opportunity and beautiful message you will spill across the pages of your book. I can’t wait! Entertaining is one of my favorite things and you have so many unique and special ideas that really make entertaining fun, just like you said!

  74. Janelle Carlson says:

Forgot to mention how much I too love that dress!!
Also, as a possible subject to be addressed – party etiquette. (My personal pet peeve is invited guests not responding to an rsvp.) I see a fair amount of pretty inconsiderate behavior out there, and it makes me wonder, ‘do they realize how rude that is’?? Maybe it’s time for a modern-day good manners refresher(?)

    • Oooh, great idea! You’re right, we do need some etiquette reminders in this modern world we live in. 😉 Love the idea of a page devoted to some of the biggest faux pas and how to avoid them!

  75. Molly says:

Do I get an autographed copy?

  76. Ruchis says:

I don’t know if at this point is a given, but my only suggestion is to have a digital version available for purchase. Looking forward to have you in my electronic bookshelf 🙂

  77. Jeannette says:

Congratulations! Very much looking forward to your book when it comes out. I love your blog so I know your book will inspire just as much!

Some ideas…how about “just because” get togethers. With so many family and friends and children it seems that the only time we get together is for a holiday or birthday. Which is wonderful but some days my friends and I just need the four of us to talk, be silly, whatever. Another idea…afternoon tea. I love it! And there are moments that don’t always get celebrated…a new job/promotion, giving birth to a healthy baby, celebrating a new season…so many! I love hostessing and I am the kind of person that loves to make a celebration out of every moment!

    • Yes yes yes – “just because” get togethers will be the heart of this book! So glad to hear that you guys are wanting that content, because this style of entertaining is one of the things I’m most passionate about, and what I’m most excited about sharing.

  78. Kaara says:

Congratulations Camille! You’re style is such an inspiration 😉

  79. Congratulations, Camille! That is so exciting and what a wonderful accomplishment. You are so deserving of this amazing opportunity, and it is so evident how passionate you are about what you do. I look forward to purchasing it!

  80. Amazing News! Congratulations! I know it’s going to be a huge success.

  81. Wendy says:

Congratulations, Camille!! I don’t know if I can wait a whole year. But I know it will be a brilliant book so I’ll try to be patient 🙂 In addition to a well stocked pantry I hope you’ll also include your “can’t do without” entertaining items (i.e. cocktail napkins, etc.)

  82. sofia says:

I can’t tell you how thrilled I am for you! I knew after meeting for our breakfast gathering at Morandi in NYC that a few years or so later, you would be doing all these fantastic things! I am so proud for you and wish you only happiness and loads of success! XOX – S

  83. Liz H. Nunez says:

Congrats Camille, I am so, so happy for you. I really, really enjoy reading your blog and it is one of the few blogs that I can’t wait to click on (I have you bookmarked:) I know your book is going to be awesome. I am a pastor’s wife and sometimes at the last minute I have people coming over to visit and that may or may not include a meal, I would like a list of some items to have on hand to make quick decorating ideas that looks like I took a long time to make. Oh, and a list of quick decorating ideas would also be nice:) It’s all in the details, as you say. Felicidades!

  84. mari says:

First, joy to and for you! Really thrilling for you and us to share your passion and talent. May I pre-thank you for all you will share and we, in turn, can share and bring joy to others; win/win, indeed!
We are super busy and spontaneously invite friends over in say an hour to play games. Then I stop dead in my tracks and think: what on earth am I going to serve?
