Outdoor Fall Wedding Reception | Camille Styles

It’s the first weekend of fall! Since tomorrow marks the autumn equinox, I’ve been thinking about what really gets me in a fall state of mind. The crunch of a sweet-tart apple, pulling on my wellies for the first time, burning my cider candle in the office, the scent of cinnamon wafting from the kitchen… Then while I was driving yesterday afternoon, a Keane song came on the radio, and suddenly I remembered that every single song from that band reminds me of back-to-school and changing leaves. (Blame it on a certain sophomore year crush who played it them his car around-the-clock… but I digress.) Anyway, am I crazy, or does anyone else have a song or band that’s their soundtrack to ringing in a new season? I’d love to hear about yours in the comments, and enjoy my favorite links from the past week!

Don Henley’s Boys of Summer reminds me of spring: driving around in my car, senior year, listening to mix tapes-yes, tapes-and playing hookie from school. It still elicits those feelings now.

For some reason, Simon and Garfunkel put me in an autumn state of mind. I think I’ll listen to
“Kathy’s Song” right now to celebrate the lovely cooler weather we’re enjoying in Austin today!
