With my due date just five weeks away and all of my styling jobs wrapped, I’m starting to take it a little easier and enjoy these last few weeks while this little one is still in my belly. (From what I hear, a whole lot is about to change when she makes her debut!)  I’ve found myself especially relishing the early mornings these days.  Some times that means sleeping in a little later with Aaron and other days it’s me writing away on my laptop with a decaf latte in hand.  On one Saturday morning a couple of weeks ago we picked up pastries and coffees and hopped back in bed for another hour and I thought to myself, why don’t we do this more often?  With the exception of a few crumbs in the sheets, a lazy Saturday morning with breakfast in bed is pretty close to perfection.

While I have enjoyed the last few months of dressing with this bump turned basketball, these cotton voile pajamas from Plum Pretty Sugar’s collaboration with BHLDN are hard to beat.  Aren’t they beautiful?!  This coffeepot and coordinating cup and saucer are from Kate Spade’s Larabee Road china collection and, thanks to the California sunshine, these garden roses are straight from our backyard.

Since this will be my final pre-baby style post, any mom’s out there have suggestions for how I should be spending these last few weeks?  I feel like I need to be soaking in every minute!  Also, any essentials that you would recommend packing for the hospital?  So many of the lists out there seem a little over the top!

Thank you so much for following along with this series always, but especially over these last eight months.  Your comments and well wishes have meant so much to me and have been such a great encouragement!  I’ll be back before you know it and, who knows, maybe baby girl will make it into a style post one of these days!

 Get the look!

I completely agree. I always feel like I should be doing something more productive, but I do think it’s important to carve out a little leisure time now and then 🙂

Jen, I think you are very wise to be indulging in whatever feels relaxing and special in these weeks leading up to the birth of your baby. yes, life as a mom will get much busier, but as a mother of three (including my sweet Camille), I can assure you that it is a joy like no other!

Thank you so much for the encouraging words! I have heard so much about you from Camille. Hopefully I would love to meet you on one of my future Austin trips… and introduce you to baby girl, of course 🙂

Thank you so much, Jen! I have been a little hung up on this lilac nail polish lately! It’s the perfect antidote to gray or rainy winter weather.

Enjoy every minute of it, because when baby is here it will be a little while before you have time for yourself. I love this post, the pajamas and your nail color. Can you be more specific what color that is? Thank you and I wish you all the best with the little one.

Hi Sandra, It’s from last spring but they actually still have it online at Nordstrom it look’s like. It’s Essie ‘Go Ginza’. The Essie brushes are my favorite for painting at home. I also recently bought Essie ‘Bikini So Teeny’ and ‘Turquoise and Caicos’. To say I’m a little obsessed with pastels right now would be an understatement 😉

This is such a sweet post! As a mother of three, life does get busy, but it’s an amazing time in your life! For the hospital bring a nursing bra or nursing tank, nightie/PJ’s/robe. Bravado and Belabumbum are both great. No underwire for the hospital. You are going to be tired, so makeup cleansing wipes make washing your face easy and bring your own personal products. Congratulations!

Thank you so much for the tips, Shannon. Those are super helpful! Three little ones sounds like quite the fun adventure. Maybe I will get there myself someday 🙂

Beautiful entry- Our little girl is 16 months now but I remember where you are now all too well. Its a transitioning period. It can be spent from just enjoying the stillness of the day to heading out with your hubby on dates that will be a little bit more challenging to get to later on…so much so I wrote a funny blog entry about it that received more hit than any of my posts! LOL!! Maybe you’ll get a good laugh too :www.girlnesting.com. I’m not trying to sell ya, but reading this you might enjoy it. Have your bag ready by the door. Now isn’t at all jumping the gun. Pack comfy slippers, lip gloss, a robe, a camera (or just have room on your iPhone for pics). I can’t think of anything else..oh shampoo and conditioner, deodorant- you’ll want to smell nice and feel clean as soon as you can lol. A onsie pajama with feet for baby to come home in- also go ahead and install your car seat 😉 Enjoy these last few weeks – being a mom is a lot of work but it’s incredible and wonderful!!! I have never been happier 🙂 You’re about to meet the super super version of you and your baby! So exciting 🙂

Jen, you have the most incredible part of the journey ahead! As a mother of two little ones I will say you will very rarely have time for lazy kid-less mornings in the future. Enjoy every minute now! For the hospital I would bring a small speaker with a fabulous ipod/playlist that is packed with good (relaxing) tunes. It can really distract when you need it. I also say SLIPPERS. Hospital floors are cold and they always feel a little “icky” to me. It’s nice to have cozy clean feet while you are schlepping back and forth to the bathroom! Good luck and best wishes full of love!
