Cabin Fever

Cozy Cabin Inspiration Board

Cozy Cabin Inspiration BoardAfter watching hours on end of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks on Netflix, I’ve got a bad case of cabin fever — and no, I don’t mean the irritable, restless kind. I mean I am intensely in to all things alpine right now, from these anonymous ism deer socks from j. crew to this fair isle sweater by native youth. In a few weeks I’ll be hitting the slopes with a group of friends in Taos, and until then I’ll be dreaming of stone fireplaces and woolrich blankets… Wouldn’t it be wonderful to spend Christmas eve tucked inside a mountain cabin with snow falling outside? Oh, and by the way my dream cabin is sans cheesy decor — it has antique rugs, a library full of books, and a dark green velvet sofa on which I’d cozy up by the fire, pour myself a glass of red wine, and finally finish Twin Peaks.

oh man, I wish you hadn’t said anything. this is such a christmas dream of mine, too, and I’ve been trying to put it away since we’ll be spending christmas in florida with no cabins to be found. gorgeous inspiration, though.

    love, arielle

You’ve painted a lovely picture! A cozy cabin after a day on the slopes sounds ideal – complete with wine and hot chocolate, it’s a dream come true!

Oh my goodness. We have the exact same idea of what a good cabin would be. rugs and books and fire. None of that cheesy decor is necessary! That sounds so incredibly cozy.
I’ve never been skiing so I don’t have a favorite ski spot but I have done plenty of cabin camping in the midwest. My all time favorite camp is YMCA Camp MacLean. It’s very kid-centric (hey, I was a kid when I went) but the cabins are super cozy and the lodge is great for sharing meals with people. And talk about an amazing lake. Everything a good camper needs. And a zip line. ;]
thanks for sharing this cozy post to stir up warm thoughts in the last few hours of a very bleak Monday morning.

We used to have a cozy cabin in Northern Michigan, it was everything you just described. Simple yet cozy! This makes me miss it! Great board 🙂
