Growing up, each summer I spent a month at sleep-away camp in Wimberley, Texas. Reuniting with my camp friends was the single thing I looked most forward to all throughout the school year, and I still cherish all the memories I made during those summers… one of my favorites being the overwhelmingly star-speckled night sky, and laying in the grass, taking it all in. Is there anything more peaceful? Looking back, I’m realizing that I haven’t spent nearly enough time away from the city and surrounded by nature this summer, but thankfully, it’s not too late. I’ve got serious plans to load the car up with blankets and sleeping bags before summer’s end, and drive until the city lights are but a mere memory. Here’s hoping you take time to do the same, and if so, be sure to download Star Walk — my friend Sam introduced me to the stargazing app, and it’s absolutely amazing!

I couldn’t agree more, Chanel! Sometimes, the city lights prevent us from seeing stars, although it’s one of the best shows the nature has to offer. Your childhood memories sound like so much fun!

While making this board, I kept thinking about what a gorgeous theme this would be in a nursery or child’s room! Love it 🙂

Chanel, this is such a creative montage! Love the fabrics, diagrams and other clever pics in the mix… With all the back to school advertising we’re encountering, it’s so nice to take a step back and remember that it’s still summer!
