T-minus 8 days until New York Fashion Week, and I’m already experiencing all sorts of fomo. As if the arrival of Vogue’s September issue wasn’t enough of a reminder, we’ll soon be inundated with photos and updates of all the fabulousness that comes with the most stylish month of the year. Thankfully I’ve already given serious thought to my survival plan — and it looks a lot like this perfectly potent, classic cocktail, updated to be slightly more citrusy. If you ask me, it doesn’t get more quintessentially NYC than the Manhattan… keep reading for the recipe!
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. bourbon whiskey
- 1 oz. dry vermouth
- 3 dashes orange bitters
- orange slice for garnish
Instructions:
- Combing the whiskey, vermouth and bitters over ice and stir.
- Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a generous orange slice.

This is a great go-to drink. It looks like you have dry vermouth. Do you recommend sweet vermouth?
