Whether you’re planning a quiet dinner at home or snagged the hottest reservation in town, you really can’t go wrong with any scenario that involves good food on the 14th. We’ve partnered with celebrated chef John Besh to create the ultimate V-day plan: a candlelit meal and a surprise subscription to Besh Box! We captured the lovely Anna as she preps for a romantic evening with her honey (and for those of you wondering, her fictional “home” is set at Josephine House, one of our favorite spots in town.) Read more to discover why we think Chef Besh’s curated boxes are pretty much the best gifts ever for foodies and aspiring cooks alike…

Anna wraps up a Besh Box in anticipation of her Valentine’s arrival. Inside each monthly delivery is an inspired collection created by Chef Besh himself, made up of his favorite recipes, helpful tools, amazing ingredients, as well as a few tips and ideas to make your next meal a home run.

Anna preps dough for the strawberry shortcakes that will make their appearance post-dinner… She’ll recruit her date to help her put the finishing touches on dessert.

One of the things we love about the Besh Box is that it helps build a fully-equipped kitchen over time. Throughout the months to come, subscribers will collect a serious supply of chef’s tools, like this dough scraper from the holiday box!

Fresh white roses in a simple brass vase add a touch of modern romance to this table for two.

Vintage china and rose gold flatware make for a sweet and feminine tabletop.

Why not order your Valentine a 3-month, 6-month or 12-month subscription? Just hop on over to place the order, then print out our custom card insert for the perfect way to present a surprise subscription. An added bonus? You’ll get a $10 gift card to Williams-Sonoma with any subscription purchase of 3-months or longer.

The custom card, tied with bright red ribbon, is the perfect finishing touch to a pretty place setting.

Anna mounted her card onto a blush enclosure envelope for a luxe presentation.

It’s the most flattering light there is and always sets an intimate mood — we’ll take any excuse to dine by candlelight!

This is the kind of gift we love to give because it’s all about spending time together and making memories in the kitchen. A Besh Box subscription is an ideal gift for guys (and gals) who already love to cook as well as guys who simply want to cook. And the best part? You’ll be enjoying the rewards throughout the year with inspired home cooked meals you prepared together!

The surprises don’t end there. We’re excited to announce that Besh Box has offered an exclusive giveaway opportunity to our readers: leave a comment below describing your favorite meal to cook for two and the winner (chosen at random) will enjoy a free 6-month subscription to Besh Box! Good luck and happy Valentine’s Day…

Cooking risotto (any kind), it involves wine and it is easy for two people to make together.

My husband whips up the BEST Caesar salad. The first time he coddled an egg, I knew it was love. Then sometimes we make chicken marsala with asparagus risotto. We like to play some Rolling Stones and pour lots of merlot. We even have a sign in our kitchen that says “Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon.”

Anything light and super fresh. Usually a big salad with roasted Brussels sprouts if i’m feeling zealous, and sauteed fish or scallops. All while my man is shucking oysters and pouring the beer for him and wine for me!

Rolling out strips of gnocchi and cutting and dimpling them is a lot of fun, and it’s easy enough that no one gets mad! Plus, it’s filling and delicious, and high in lots of vitamin A! Together, we enjoy making pizza! We’re both busy, so pizza is something we can make with whatever we find in the kitchen and just enjoy this activity together.

Steak, sweet potatoes and asparagus are a big favorite of ours, and easy to make!

A surf and turf! Marinated hanger steak and seafood gratin. And a heart shaped chocolate cake for dessert!

I like to cook chicken piccata for dinner and flourless chocolate cake for dessert.

I recently discovered Julia Childs’ roasted chicken recipe on Food and Wine website. It has become my favorite dish to cook on this very cold winter. It’s super easy, delicious and makes my house smell so yummy.

My fave meal for two is a sample of different types of stuffed mushrooms. And a chocolate dessert of course!

My favorite dinner to make for 2 is pizza and salad. I love making homemade pizza, including a variety of toppings, with a good spinach salad on the side, garnished with a few pine nuts.

My husband and I cook together most nights of the week but my favorite meal is one of the simplest: pancake breakfasts every Saturday morning!

A grand breakfast! Toasted bread with a sunny side up egg, arugula, gruyere in the middle, and some fresh-squeezed juice! + lots of dim sum, and other great breakfast foods 🙂

My favorite meal to make for us is balsamic roasted portobello mushrooms topped with an avocado feta salad. Yum yum yum and even my carnivorous husband loves this!

I love making Italian dishes for two – something romantic about wine and spaghetti – (maybe I’m channeling Lady and the Tramp a bit..)
