David Ogilvy, “The Father of Advertising,” once said: Hire people who are better than you are… Look for people who will aim for the remarkable, who will not settle for the routine. As we’ve grown over the last year, I’m learning more and more how crucial that is  — and how important it is to surround ourselves with the most dedicated, talented and smart people I can find. Today I couldn’t be more thrilled to intro y’all to a person who will no doubt be a game-changer around here: Lauren Smith Ford, our new editor-in-chief.

All you Austinites are already well-acquainted with Lauren as the longtime editor-in-chief and creative director of Tribeza magazine, and during her 8 year tenure, she became known for spotlighting the most creative, hip, artistic and inspiring people in the city. Now she’ll be doing the same, on a global level, as she helps us make CamilleStyles.com an even better daily destination for lifestyle inspiration, and I can’t wait to see how her experience as a journalist, as well as her creative talents, breathe new life into every corner of this site. For the last few years, Lauren has been someone I deeply respect and admire, as well as one of my best friends in the entire world, and I can’t tell you guys how lucky I feel to have her on the team as we take CamilleStyles.com to the next level.

So, what can you expect in the coming months? For starters, more in-depth features of amazing tastemakers around the globe… more thoughtfully-written articles exploring the topics you guys really care about… and even more inspiring original photos and videos created by our team. And just because I’ll be wearing the “Creative Director” hat doesn’t mean you’ll be seeing less of me; in fact, thanks to our growing team, I’ll have more time to write posts and focus on all the ways we want to take the site to the next level creatively.

Stay tuned for new monthly editorial themes, a handful of new series that we’ve been itching to launch and new content categories like wellness and parenting. I think you guys are going to really love the new content, and of course, we’d love to hear feedback! Leave us comments and let us know what you’re into and what you’re not; we always want to keep growing, changing and evolving. Thanks for coming along on this next chapter of the journey, and stay tuned for Lauren’s “Editors’ Essentials” post soon — I can’t wait for you all to get to know her a little better!
