I’m forever on the hunt for the perfect pajamas and loungewear — pieces that strike a balance between being insanely comfortable and incredibly pretty. Bonus points if they’re a one-piece or part of a matching set, so that I don’t have to expend any energy putting together a complete “outfit.” I fell in love with Plum Pretty Sugar’s PJ sets a couple years ago and even scooped up one of the brand’s robes to wear to the hospital when I had Phoebe (a new mama’s got to be prepared for photos!) I’ve been a fan ever since, and their feminine pieces were the inspiration for this Bachelorette Brunch I hosted with a few girl friends on my back patio by the pool last month. We brought the pretty from the very start by inviting guests to spend the day lounging in their pajamas and celebrating their favorite bachelorette. Jenn was inspired by Plum Pretty Sugar’s romantic prints when she designed these lovelies.
A bachelorette brunch is the perfect excuse to indulge every romantic tabletop fantasy. We decked out the table with mismatched Natural World Dessert Plates, Heredia Napkins, gold flatware, and rose-hued champagne coupes. Setting the table has never been so much fun.
This lightweight cotton voile playsuit was hands-down the most comfortable hostess outfit ever! It’s loungewear that still feels like a “special occasion” piece.
We thought it would fun to give each girl a matching accessory to don during the party, and these fresh flower corsages put a new spin on an old-school tradition.
To make them yourself, just use tiny dots of hot glue to attach the heads of blooms (we used ranunculus) to ribbon, then tie one on! So much chicer than the one you wore back on prom night, right?
First things first: greet every girl at the door with a cocktail in hand! I made pitchers of rosé cocktails garnished with fresh cherries (see slide 20 for the recipe), then setup a self-serve bar so guests could help themselves to refills.

Echinacea pods and blue thistle are the rougher elements that balance out the more romantic flowers and add visual interest.
Anne kicks up her feet and savors the sunshine in her Boyfriend Shirt. I love the way that this top references the classic “borrowed from him” vibe, but in a slimmer flattering cut that would be as cute worn as a swimsuit coverup as for lounging in bed on the weekend.

I have been so into all the sweet summer cherries that are overflowing farmer’s market stalls right now, so I decided to make them a starring ingredient in the salad. With roasted golden beets and creamy goat cheese, it became a new favorite (and was undeniably gorgeous.) I’ll be sharing the recipe later this week!
When Carly designed these flowers, she started with the sweet shades of pink inspired by our feminine outfits, then added red, yellow and blues for a bit of whimsy and a playful edge. When shopping at the flower market for an at-home arrangement, she gives this advice:
Garden roses and ranunculus are almost always available and are always romantic, which makes them a great go-to, whatever the occasion. As for what to use in addition to those, my philosophy is to go with the flow. Often, you’ll be surprised to see what great seasonal finds are available at the flower market on any given day. So choose your color pallet, don’t be afraid to combine different heights and textures, and just go have some fun and see what inspires you!
More is more when it comes to the abundance of patterns and unrestrained use of color on this table. Don’t hold back, and embrace the art of mixing and matching pieces that you might not ordinarily put together. When working with a wild palette, I try to keep everything around the same level of brightness. Pastels look great with other pastels, and earthy tones look great with other earthy hues.
Since a bachelorette party is made up of the bride’s best pals, it’s the perfect opportunity to pen a few words that’ll let her know how much she means to everyone. We handed out pretty watercolored cards with blank spaces for each girl to write her personal “notes to the bride.” On the morning of her wedding day, the bride can open up the envelope and read them all (pre-mascara, please.)
This Rosé Plum Cocktail couldn’t be simpler or more delicious. In a large pitcher, combine 1 bottle rosé, 1 cup Saint Germaine, 1/2 cup agave syrup and 1 sliced plum. Refrigerate for at least two hours and up to overnight. When ready to serve, place a few fresh cherries in each chilled glass and pour the cocktail over. Cheers!
