For most of the year our homes function pretty routinely, but during the holidays, they take on so many extra responsibilities. You may bake more cookies this month than the rest of the year combined, host your extended family under your roof, or throw an epic New Year’s eve bash. Since your home is multi-tasking, it’s imperative that your furniture and decor do too. I’m taking inspiration from this room and its versatile pieces, like the table which could serve as a dining table, an entryway console, or a drinks station. Read on for my tips to get the most out of your home this holiday season, and I’d love to read your suggestions in the comments!
Shearling slippers – If you have hard floors then fuzzy house slippers are a must in the winter time, and these ones are on sale!
Rattan chair – When your seating is at full capacity, it helps if you can bring your outdoor chairs in – especially if your outdoor chairs look like this. And you can always throw a fur throw or rug over the seat to make it more comfortable, and a little more wintery.
Ottoman – An ottoman is the ultimate multi-tasker. It’s light enough to move easily and can serve as a seat, a foot stool, or a side table if you put a tray on top.
Vertical garden – Who has time to tend to house plants this time of year? These air plants and succulents are as low maintenance as it gets.
Pedestal tray – When you’re entertaining, dishes like this can work as everything from your centerpiece to a serving dish. For the rest of the year you can use it as a tray on the coffee table.
Marble lamp – The marble pedestal table in the inspiration photo would be a definite splurge, but with this pillar lamp you can achieve a similar shape on a smaller scale.
Geo shelves – This wooden shelf can stand alone or stack in multiples, kind of like cubbies.
