Whether you’re a “morning person” or not, we think you’re going to love our new series featuring insanely cool girls like Kristen Lee Cole. In Getting Dressed With, we’ll be taking an intimate peek into the morning routines of our favorite stylish friends and getting the inside scoop on their favorite products, accessories, and morning rituals. We hope to make this series a lot how we like our mornings – energetic healthy, and fun. As the new Creative Director of Austin’s legendary ByGeorge boutique, and the Creative Director/Co-Owner of the edgy TENOVERSIX in Los Angles and Dallas, Kristen was a total dream subject for this first edition of the series. We met up with Kristen bright and early in her South Austin home to enjoy coffee, avocado toast, and a peek into her incredible closet. Good morning, USA!

How long does your typical morning routine last?
A couple of hours if i’m counting getting myself, son and dog ready for the day…
What’s your favorite getting-ready soundtrack?
I really like jazz in the morning — right now Miles Davis.
What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?
Kiss my son and make coffee.
Do you workout in the morning? if so, what do you do?
Always a walk, sometimes yoga or a run if i’m feeling ambitious.
What do you eat for breakfast?
avocado toast or a smoothie

coconut oil and vitamins
Worst morning habit:
too much coffee
Daily uniform:
I definitely dress by mood, so this changes daily. my favorite comfy quick look includes vintage 501s, a stubby tee, a choker, a great shoe and a silk duster (weather permitting).
Do you stick to the same makeup and hair routine, or do you like to experiment?
I really only change my lip color and alternate between braids, knots, and ponytails.
If you could only put on one item of makeup, what would it be?

Do you have a signature scent?
Lavender essential oil blended with something smoky. Either TenOverSix x Olo Fragrance (we based it on nag champa) or Le Labo Santal 33.
