While I love a good multi-step skin-care routine, when it comes to my hair, I want it to be simple and quick. Especially for my day-to-day look, I often opt to forego an hour spent blowdrying and curling in favor of something a little more effortless and a little less “done.” Which often translates to a messy bun on top of my head or an after-thought ponytail. However, looking a little more put together doesn’t actually take much extra effort.
Enter the two minute chignon. It’s perfect for when you’re wanting to polish your look a bit and you can dress it up or rock it with jeans and a tee.
The best part is that it doesn’t just look low-maintenance; this little bun is a breeze to throw together. Scroll on for step-by-step instructions for this pretty little two minute chignon – and let me know if you try it out!
Texturize.
First things first, add some texture spray into hair. This style has a little more volume and texture when you start with curled or waved hair, but any texture will pretty much work!
Gather hair into a pony.
Twist a bit as you put it up to help the hair tuck nicely into the pony and add extra volume.
Pull hair into a loop.
Wrap pony around hair leaving some in a loop on the final pull through.
Adjust.
Play with tugging some hair at the roots to increase volume and texture.
Wrap around.
Pull hair over the top of the little loop and wrap underneath.
Secure and finish!
I like just tucking it into my ponytail holder for an easy, minimal and simple updo, but feel free to use bobby pins to secure if that feels easier.
