As we prepare to say goodbye to 2013, I can’t help but reminisce about the New Year’s Eve bash we threw with kate spade new york last year to ring it in. Twister, truffle fries and tubs of champagne… that’s pretty much all you need to deem a NYE party a huge success! (click here for the full story, & keep reading for more of my favorite party photos shot by Buff Strickland.) Of course, there’s a lot more to New Year’s than late-night revelry. It’s a time when many of us take stock of the past year and think about how we’d like to shape up our lives (physically, spiritually, emotionally… or all of the above) for 2014.

Have y’all been thinking about resolutions yet? Some of mine are more predictable (eat less sugar, go to pilates more often), while others still feel a little abstract (become more mindful of the present, be a more patient mom, deepen my spirituality.) Since I have a much better success rate with specific, measurable goals, I’ll definitely be spending some time over the next few days honing in on the little steps I can take that will set me on the path to achieving those loftier resolutions.

I’ll be sure to check in next week with updates on my intentions for 2014, and in the meantime, I’d love to hear some of yours! Leave a comment letting me know your goals and resolutions for the new year, and, as always, keep reading for a few can’t-miss links from the past week…

Happy New year to you! I remember this post from last year and it’s wonderful to look back. I’ve been thinking about what this year has meant to me and thankfully the blessings have outweighed the things that were challenging. I turn a year older a few days after the new year and I’m thanking God for continued good health for my whole family, including myself. Have a blessed end of this year and a beautiful 2014 for you and your family! With love, Desiree

Spend less, give more … but cutting back on sugar is a good addition! And on an unrelated note, I love your glitzy Twister board.
