Some days just beg you to get outdoors, don’t they? We’ve been having an unusually warm winter here, and it has a lot of people complaining about the record high temps during what are supposed to be the chillier months. But honestly: we live in Southern California… winter is not part of the deal. Personally, I’m kind of loving the excuse to get outdoors for long walks and soak in as much vitamin D as possible. If you’re ever in LA, you must spend some time in Griffith Park. The Griffith Observatory is a must, as are all of the great hiking trails with their gorgeous views, and the light here just before sunset is so stunning this time of year! (If you’re really lucky there’ll be a great concert at the Greek Theatre that you can catch there, too!)
No matter the temperature where you are, the right layers all working together can work in just about any climate. I opted for a thin tank and cotton cape, but you could substitute a chunky black and white knit and heavier trench for a similar look. I’ve had this cape from A Thread for over a year, but suddenly with a bump underneath it feels like a brand new piece.
I’m sure you’re getting sick of seeing these jeans by now, but I only have so many maternity jeans and these are my fave! The boots are Swedish Hasbeens and I love the ultra-round toe and chunky sole and heel. I’m dying to try out their sandals now for summer! One of the hazards of prepping a job as a stylist is that prepping quite literally means shopping and it is very easy to stray from the job and pick up a thing or two for yourself at the same time. Case and point: this sheer silk tank.
Regardless of where you live or what the temperature dial is reading, hopefully you can find a little time to get out in the sunshine this week!
Get the look!
