How to Throw a Beauty Brunch for Moms & Their Minis

By Jenn Rose Smith
such a cute idea for mother's day!

There’s really only one rule for a great Mother’s Day: whatever you do, it should be relaxing. This year we’ve been thinking a lot about self-care, and fun little relaxation rituals you can perform in your own home. That lead us to the idea for this year’s Mother’s Day get together — a mother/daughter spa-inspired brunch you can throw at home! Camille (and Phoebe) invited friend Anne and her daughters for a morning of beauty (and the prettiest cake ever.) Our friends at Botanics sent us plenty of great products, and the girls had SO much fun trying them out with their moms. Scroll down to see what just might be our cutest party ever.

Camille set the table with roses inspired by the Royal Botanical Garden, Kew where Botanics identifies key plant extracts that are used in their skincare products. This initiative is just one of the things that makes the Botanics beauty line so fresh and effective.

We prepared a colorful brunch set on an antique lace runner that once belonged to Camille’s mom.

I designed a little card outlining the steps for the morning. You can download the free printable here!

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY
an aromatic ritual

1
Cleanse your space by burning the rose and sage smudge stick.

2
Wash your face with the Botanics All Bright Micellar 3 in 1 Cleansing Solution.

3
Steam your face with the herbal facial steam.

4
Use the Botanics Shine Away Ionic Clay Mask.

5
Follow up with the Botanics All Bright Cleansing Toner.

6
Finish with applying the Botanics All Bright Radiance Concentrate Serum.

All of the products together with a fluffy white towel and sprig of eucalyptus made for an abundant gift basket. Pretty amazing that all of these Botanics products together were only $38 at Target!

Camille put together a colorful crudité plate like only she can — so pretty!

We made the rose and sage smudge sticks ourselves. The scent was heavenly! Stay tuned for the DIY here on the blog next week.

Our friends at Sugar Mama’s Bakeshop created this gorgeous cake for us with icing florals. Almost too pretty eat… almost!

The girls loved helped blowing the smoke from the smudge stick to cleanse our space before beginning the beauty treatments.

Everyone started by washing their face with the Botanics All Bright Micellar 3 in 1 Cleanser, which utilizes the brightening power of hibiscus extract.

The girls loved getting to try out some “grown up” beauty treatments with their moms.

Everyone tried an herbal facial steam that we DIY’ed here at the Bungalow. Facial steaming is a practice I love — it’s great for relieving sinus pressure, and really opens up the pores to makes them receptive to oils and other products. This one smelled HEAVENLY! Watch for the DIY later this week.

Anne and Camille couldn’t wait to try out the Botanics All Bright Cleansing Toner, which leaves skin feeling revitalized and rejuvenated.

The girls were all giggles doing their herbal facial steams!

Anne loved the Botanics All Bright Radiance Concentrate Serum, which brightens skin and makes it glow while still being gentle enough for sensitive skin. She even took an extra bottle home with her after the brunch!

Now for the real fun. Cora was the first to try out the Botanics Shine Away Ionic Clay Mask. She loved the cool, clay-like texture going on her face!

May we all look like Anne after having three children… here she is with her youngest, Anders, who tagged along for the party.

Camille LOVES a good clay mask for her combination skin, and the Botanics Shine Away Ionic Clay Mask mask is one of her favorites. The natural Willowbark extract is a natural source of salicylic acid and helps to clarify skin, leaving skin feeling radiant and soft.

Like mother, like daughter! Thanks Botanics for inspiring the most fun Mother’s Day we’ve hosted yet. Can we do this every weekend?
