The weather in Austin couldn’t be better today. Mid-60’s and not a cloud in the sky, it’s truly the definition of a perfect Spring day. So would you believe me if I’d told you I wished it was raining?
I don’t know when it happened, but over the last few years I’ve fallen increasingly more in love with the sounds, the sights, the feeling of rainfall. It’s not just about getting to wear my favorite pair of wellies or curling up on the couch for a movie; looking out the window to see cars splashing by, fumbling my umbrella and dog’s leash, and racing from the car to the front door all just feel so wonderful to me. Sure, I might feel differently if I lived somewhere like London or Seattle, but these days, I’m having a complete and total love affair with rain. Anyone with me?

Me too! I live in sunny temperate socal, and all I want is cozy grey skies and rain on the rooftops. I’m nostalgic for my study abroad session at Cambridge University.
I woke up this morning to the sound of rain falling (here in Philadelphia) and I kept wishing it wasn’t a Monday so I could lounge in bed all morning. While I love beautiful, sunny days, a little spring shower can be a welcome retreat!
I second that! What a lovely perspective — better to embrace the showers!
I do live in London and am still in love with the sound of rain. We had a huge storm over the weekend which unfortunately blew over a flowery little tree in my garden, but the sound of rain was SO nice when it wasn’t accompanied by wind destroying the place. It’s sunny for once today but, although I feel like I’m going against every English fibre in me by saying it, I’d definitely welcome more grey skies.

Hey guys, am I weird? I don’t like rain. For me grey is depressive. Still waiting for summer and sun. Welcome spring!
I think your perception of rain is a popular one, and I used to feel the same way! Just goes to show that you could have a change of heart at any time 🙂
these images captured the mood of a rainy day so perfectly – I love how you even incorporated a broody staircase and bright sweatshirt. I live in the snowy mountains and LOVE a rain inspired day.
Thanks Wendy! I’ve lived in Texas almost my whole life, so I’ve yet to experience life in a cold/rainy climate… maybe someday!
