Sewn Paper Favor Pouches for Easter

April 4th, 2017

Around here at the CS offices, we’ve been having a real obsession with popcorn lately. At about 3:00 PM every day, we all start to get the itch for something salty and crunchy. So when we were coming up with Easter DIYs this past week, these popcorn pouches were a no-brainer. Although we’re a group of pretty crafty gals, we realized Jenn is the only one of us who really knows how to sew! She dusted off her machine and helped us create these pretty paper pouches that we stuffed with our favorite snack. Read on for how to create these cute favors to pass out to your guests (and kiddos) at this year’s Easter brunch!

Easter Egg Paper Popcorn Pouches

  • patterned paper
  • egg-shaped stencil
  • pencil
  • scissors
  • single hole punch
  • sewing machine
  • ribbon
  • popcorn

  1. Use your egg-shaped stencil to trace two ovals on your patterned paper, and then cut out.
  2. Put your two ovals together, with the patterned sides facing out. Sew the edges closed leaving a small opening where you can stuff in your popcorn.
  3. Once your pouch is filled with popcorn, use your single hole punch to make two holes at the beginning and end of your stitching.
  4. Thread a pretty ribbon through the hole punches and tie in a bow. Hand out to guests as a sweet Easter brunch favor!
