The past few weeks, I’ve actually been making it into bed by 9pm with enough time to dive into a good book before turning off the light. I sleep so much better when I get some reading time in beforehand! This month’s roundup includes my new go-to weeknight cookbook, a podcast that’s making me reexamine my approach to success, and the guilty pleasure tv show that’s officially an addiction. Keep scrolling for this month’s picks, and I’d love to hear in the comments what you’re currently reading, watching and listening to!

Present Over Perfect, by Shauna Niequist
A good friend gave me this book, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. Lately I’ve had the sneaking sense that my schedule has become a bit too frantic, and this book has been a timely guide to slowing down, learning to say “no”, and making room in my life for what really matters.
READ
Creativity Inc., by Ed Catmull
The incredible true story of Pixar and the visionaries who created it. I picked up this book expecting to learn about the creative process, but what I really walked away with was lessons in building a company culture that helps everyone within it reach their fullest potential.

A Modern Way To Cook, by Anna Jones
One of those rare cookbooks where I want to cook every single recipe in its pages, A Modern Way to Cook is equal parts beautiful, clean, and a celebration of the seasons. So far I’ve tried the roasted coconut, lime, and tamarind curry; ultimate pecan banana breakfast bread, and haloumi & harissa grain bowl.

Since I didn’t read the bestselling novel, I have no idea what’s about to happen in this twisted and drama-filled series on HBO. But I’m pretty sure it’s gonna get ugly. The scenery, people, and architecture, however, are drop dead gorgeous and the eye candy alone makes it one to watch every weekend.
WATCH
Think of this Netflix series like the “Chef’s Table” for the design world. Each episode profiles a different talent in fields across architecture, photography, typography, and more, uncovering their unique processes and inspiration.

Would you be happier if you owned fewer things? Tried to accomplish fewer things in a week? Thought about fewer things at once? This fascinating hour-long program makes an undeniably strong case for the idea that less really is more, even though we’re constantly tempted to think otherwise.
