Anine Bing — as both a person and a brand — is a woman after my own heart. To be more specific (because visually, the Danish designer and I couldn’t have less in common), we’re style soul sisters. And though Anine seems to always look as if she’s walked straight off a runway, this impressive mother of two fills her days juggling family with designing and running her clothing line, and a quick read through her interview answers below reveal someone who’s laid back, fuss free, and straight up real. Her edgy, non-boring basics are what first won us over, but her approachable getting dressed routine sealed the deal. Ladies and gentlemen, we bring you Anine…

What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?
Kiss my kids then wash my face.
What time is your wake-up call?
I’m up at 6am every day.
What wakes you up each day — alarm, sunlight, kids, dogs?
Literally all of the above or some combination of the four!
Early bird or night owl?
Sleep is the most important thing for my mental health. I’m definitely an early bird with having two kids and running a business. I try to get 8 or 9 hours.
Do you have a signature scent?
The ANINE BING signature scent Savage Rose, we just launched in August but I’ve been wearing it for over a year, it’s the best.
I’ll cleanse my face with La Mer, use a toner by Paula’s Choice or some yummy serums by La Mer or Bobbi Brown and then embark on my quick 2 minute makeup routine. When you’re a mom you don’t get tons of time in the morning to get ready!
I usually use Bobbi Brown’s tinted moisturizer with SPF for my whole face, then under eye concealer by Glossier, a little Bobbi Brown highlighter for some cheek glow, mascara by Marc Jacobs, and a little tinted chapstick. Quick and easy, less is more!
If you could only put on one item of makeup, what would it be?
Right now I am obsessed with the Bobbi Brown highlighter so probably that. I also love Cle de Peau’s concealer.
Do you stick to the same makeup and hair routine, or do you like to experiment?
If I try something new that I love I’ll integrate it into my routine for sure, but I’m pretty simple when it comes to my hair and makeup. I’m having a love affair with all things beauty right now, and I love trying new products, but I also like to keep it pretty simple.
Shower: morning or night?
Morning.
What’s your favorite product in your shower?
A rose body soap – I love everything rose.
Describe your getting ready routine from start to finish.
During the week I’m usually running around trying to get the kids ready for school, make breakfast, and also put myself together for the day. I usually quickly shower, but don’t wash my hair every day – it looks better if I wash it every few days.

Any morning media rituals?
Once I drop the kids off at school, I love that little bit of “me” car time so I usually just try to zone out before my busy day and listen to some mellow music, I love The Cranberries or Mazzy Star. And of course I have to check my Insta.
What’s your favorite getting-ready soundtrack?
Something mellow like the above, I weirdly like more depressing-sounding music, ha!
Do you plan your outfits in advance, or create them on the fly?
I usually just create them on the fly. I have a bit of a uniform – jeans, a vintage tee, and boots, so I pretty much have a daily formula that I know I’m going to work with 🙂
Healthiest morning habit:
I take daily vitamins and supplements — I was pretty burned out earlier this year and once I started taking these every day, my energy levels were back to normal so it’s one of the most important parts of my morning..
Worst morning habit:
Hmm, probably sneaking in something sugary too early in the day, I’m a known candy addict.

What do you eat for breakfast?
I never leave the house without __________.
My phone, snacks, and sunglasses.pictured: katya bag in black croc.
Do you work out in the morning? If so, what do you do and for how long?
I honestly just don’t have the time, but on the weekends we usually go for a family hike up Griffith – the kids love it and it’s great exercise.

If you had one extra hour every morning, how would you use it?
I would work out. Maybe do yoga or pilates. I think I need that in my life..
One word to describe your mornings:
Excited (for a new day).
