DIY Herbal Bath Salts - how to make them at home

ed. note: This project is from Julia Watkin’s beautiful new book, Simply Living Well. For more about the book, and Julia’s instructions for how to wrap this up using her furoshiki wrapping technique, click here. And for instructions on making her DIY oatmeal face scrub, head right over here. From Julia:

Bath salts have been used for centuries to relax achy muscles, reduce inflammation, detoxify the body, calm the mind, and moisturize and soothe dry skin.

If you’re looking to do a salt soak on your own, a cup of Epsom salts and 5-10 drops of essential oils will do the trick. But if you’re looking for a slightly more luxurious experience, or a lovely gift idea, this herbal bath salt recipe is second to none. I like adding dried flowers from my garden or wellness cabinet – my favorites being calendula, chamomile, lavender, and rose.
