In college I was obsessed with the movie Almost Famous! Anyone else? My roommates and I even had a theme dress viewing party in our living room where I did my very best to channel my inner Kate Hudson. While my fall/winter style tends to be more east-coast-prep-meets-classic-californian, in the spring and summer it definitely has a more bohemian twist; my ode to Penny Lane if you will. I’ve recently been editing down my closet to fewer and fewer pieces, and have found that with great denim, simple tops, and a few great accessories, I can mix and match things easily to accommodate both my outer prep, inner boho gal, and just about any alter ego in between!
This first look is obviously more bohemian. I love the light, faded wash of these boyfriend jeans with the white peasant top. It’s so light and airy and fresh for spring! I can’t get enough of this tassel necklace either. It’s a great way to make a simple black dress more casual or to elevate jeans and top.
The next look is more classic– ankle skinny jeans (also from Anthropologie) with a cool, more structured black top. Plus those green baubles and that clutch! Again, they would be equally great with a cocktail dress for drinks, but they totally work to bring together this simple jean and top look.
