The first step is finding envelopes that coordinate with the rest of your decor. These envelopes come in countless color options, including a few lovely pastel shades that are just begging for a spring-inspired treatment.

Next comes the fun part. Use permanent paint pens to draw a small repeating motif. We chose to adorn our envelopes with carrots, tulips, easter eggs and bunnies.

For more ideas on what to draw, check out one of our favorite Instagram accounts: Lucy Halcomb. She decorates envelopes unlike anything you’ve ever seen!

Once the paint dries, stuff each envelope with your utensils. We chose single-use bamboo flatware to keep with the casual look and feel of these envelopes.

If your meal is being served family-style, set an envelope atop each place setting – you can even hand-write guest’s names on the envelopes to serve double duty as place cards.

If you’re setting a buffet, set your envelopes in a basket at the end of it for a display, making it easy for guests to grab their flatware and find a spot at the table.
