Hello again readers! I’ve finally returned from my big adventure abroad and it’s good to be back. On my return flight I caught the Italian film La Grande Bellezza and was swept away by it’s rich visuals of Roman nightlife. In one memorable scene, dapper central character Jep Gambardella perches on marble bench while sporting a canary yellow jacket. We tend to associate the color with cheerfulness and sunshine, but yellow can also be daring, modern, and even avant garde. On Jep, the color reads as pure confidence. And who can deny the fabulousness of Bianca Jagger in a full-length yellow house dress? Not to say that anyone can pull off head-to-toe yellow — for most of us, yellow is easiest to approach with a powerful accessory like a clutch or bangle. And this particular primary looks oh-so-good alongside a great black and white pattern. As we say down south: a little dab’ll do ya.

I’ve always thought I looked horrible in yellow with my pale skin, but I’m falling more and more in love with it. What a beautiful collage 🙂
