The first whispers of summer made themselves heard this weekend in Austin – I actually donned a bikini and caught up on magazines by the pool yesterday while Adam worked in the yard and Phoebe napped. (heaven.) The balmy weather arrives just in time to heat things up for Cinco de Mayo this weekend, and since our whole team is pretty into all things Mexican-inspired (exhibit A: last week’s happy hour), you can bet your burrito we’ll be sharing plenty of Cinco inspiration this week on the blog. Thought I’d pull together an inspiration board of all the images that have been getting me in a fiesta frame of mind this year: think colorful embroidery, paper flowers, fruity sangria, watermelon everything and tacos, tacos, tacos! Are you guys making any plans? Would love to hear, and hope you all have a lovely start to the new week!

I’ve never celebrated Cinco de Mayo, but all this inspiration going on here has made me want to get into this holiday. Looks like such a fun holiday!

Camille how do you get so tan? You have the prettiest skin tone. Do you use sunless tanner or are you just naturally blessed? : )

Ha, thanks Stacey! I am a huge fan of sunless tanner… I use to get spray tans, but now that I have a baby, there’s no time for that so I have to do the at-home version! 🙂 Love Neutrogena’s Micromist because you don’t have to rub it in (which means no orange palms!)

These photos have me craving warm weather! They also make me want to have an entire section of my closet dedicated to beautifully embroidered, colorful and festive clothing – a girl can dream right?

Love this theme! Cinco de Mayo just happens to be the same day as my son’s birthday. We always have Mexican food and this year I’m going to make fried icecream for dessert!

I’ve also never celebrated Cinco de Mayo however I do love Mexican food so I’m thinking following this theme should set the tone for the lead up. Spicy nachos with plenty of cheese and possibly even a margareta or 2 🙂

Yep, celebrating Cinco de Mayo all the way over here in Australia… a good Texan girl can’t let a Tex-Mex holiday pass by! We’re rounding up some of our Aussie mates and going out for Mexican food and margaritas in Sydney. Thanks for the colorful inspiration, makes me miss ole San Antone at this time of year!
